MY SECOND TRIP TO ISRAEL......A NEW EXPERIENCE
It is very difficult to describe how I felt as I arrived at Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv, Israel. I did not get much sleep throughout the 11 hrs flying from Bangkok to Amman, Jordan. I was tired. After 5 days of waiting for my body to recover from some respiratory viral infection, whilst doing mental calculation(s)....will my body be well enough to handle the rigors of the trip?...and all the arrangements for the boys (including the adult...haha!) while I am away....it just goes on and on! Thank God I felt a lot better on the day I flew off, and told my brain (while trying to get some physical rest) that I will need to NOT think so much.
So here we are! Mrs Lee and I, and the 50 other people on this trip. We are part of Mount Carmel School of Ministry. We took a one and a half hour bus ride to Haifa, the 3rd largest city with 350,000 people, after Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. 25% of the population here are Arabs. Listening to Gidon (Gideon in English), a staff from Kehilat HaCarmel share on the work of God in Israel, there was a return of a sense of love and connection to the people of Israel....and remembering God's promises for His people. Throughout the journey, we saw how clean and beautiful this nation is....though it is a desert area, and we were told there has not been any rain for the past 3 months! So where do to they get their water from? The Jews are intelligent people and you can surely read on their advancements in terms of technology, agriculture, medicine, etc on the internet. Haifa is also the Silicon Valley of Israel....big companies like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Intel, etc....all set up here for the purpose of research. Later, we were told that Israelis seem to have the talent to start up companies, make them grow and sell them. Recently, Waze was sold to Google for US1billion! Mount Carmel is not A MOUNTAIN but a range of mountains...and the bus meandered up to the highest point where Beit Yedidia (House of God's friend) our lodging place for the next week was.
This morning, I woke up at 2am Israel time as it is 8 am in Malaysia....to the sounds of roaring lions (it was like the lion was in this big cave!) as well as sounds of feathered friends! Beit Yedidia is next to the zoo! Later found out that there were 2 white Siberian tigers that we can see from our room! So for the next few days, we had people coming into our room to see the tigers!
More to come.......
