Last
Saturday, 3 January 2015, was the 1st anniversary of Papa's passing away. Below
is the advertisement in The Star:
What
was written is exactly how I feel at this moment. I am glad to be able to
put together papa's life story. I feel it is an honour to be able
to fulfil his last request..."Someone has to finish it". And it
is so true of God's Word....that Papa's death is indeed better than the day of
his birth. At the end of his life, it is what he has done and what he has left
behind that is of value. I am glad to be able to get to know some of his
friends from Technical College and hear their stories of times together with
Papa. Stories from so many of his colleagues and those who have worked
under Papa. I have to say that I am never near Papa as a 'calm person, patient,
and never loses his temper' as many have described Papa. Truly, putting the
book together has been a journey of sorts and a healing process for me. To know
that the book would be able to be read and seen (with lots of pictures) and to
accomplish the purpose for future generations, have truly strengthened me
to continue what Papa has left behind for us to do.
Papa
was very proud of his time in Technical College and it has been a privilege for
me to be in contact with some of his friends, as I needed photos for the book.
I am glad that I have this nice photo, taken just before Papa graduated in
1961 :

There are many more photos in the book....of our
family, of the extended Lim family, and writings by different people who all
knew Papa....who he was to each one of them.
Then I also got to meet some of the Senior
Management Staff of ICP, in December 2014, including my cousin Choy Teik
San. It was again a comfort to listen to what Papa has done and how the company
is doing well.
On
Saturday, 3 January, we went to visit Papa's grave. We sang and thanked
God for the life He has given Papa, and all that He has done for our family.
Indeed He is a great God that has done great things in Papa's life! It will be a greater year of fulfilling Papa's desires to give to those who are in need. Papa, may we continue to be faithful to accomplish your desires to always be a blessing to others. We love you and miss you!
